Snowed In....

Well it's day #4 of being snowed in, and I got the call a few hours ago saying that tomorrow school will be canceled as well....sigh.  The kids enjoyed the snow on days 1 and 2, but it seems like we are all over it now.  Hannah and I were able to make a trip to Target today which was our first time out of the house all week!  Luckily the Pilot has 4WD and we can make it back up the driveway.
Champ has not been a happy dog this week.  He does not like the snow and we have to force him to go outside and then ignore him while he stands at the door hoping he will go to the bathroom on his own!

Our kids have no snow gear at all, so we had to improvise.  To help keep their shoes dry, we tied Publix bags around their feet.  Ben was not happy about it at first, but appreciated it when he wasn't getting wet outside!
We had a pretty good amount of snow, but it was an icy snow.  It wasn't easy to make snowballs or a snowman.  The kids liked walking around and seeing everything covered up.

We attempted some sledding since our house is on a hill, but that wasn't very successful either!

The neighborhood kids invited Hannah out to play, which she was thrilled about.  Ben just stood at his window yelling, "Naaaana"!
On day 2 the Randolphs made their way over to the house and we attempted sledding again.  Still not very successful....

Ben got a ride with Daddy!

I've had lots of fun spending time with the kids this week, but I'm not looking forward to losing my February break to make up these snow days.  I think all the teachers are crossing their fingers that the Governor will issue a pardon and not have us make up all the days!

It's a..........

Over the past few days, I've been having stomach pain and discomfort.  Of course, as these things usually go, it was on a holiday/weekend so the doctor's office wasn't open.  I didn't feel like it was an "emergency" that would require me to page the on call doctor, but this comes from the same woman who denied she was in labor for multiple hours.  Anyways....the baby is GREAT....which was a huge relief.  Although I was pretty sure it was not baby related pain, I was glad we could rule it out.  I wasn't anticipating an ultrasound appointment when I arrived.  I actually told the woman that she must have grabbed the wrong chart because I wasn't supposed to be having an ultrasound....I'm really ridiculous at times!  While she was doing the scan we discussed that this was a surprise pregnancy and she asked me about my kids at home.  Then she asked if I would like to know the sex of the baby....I hesitated because I was alone on the appointment.  Jay was working, and he usually is present for the "big appointments"....I couldn't resist the temptation to know :)  Here is the video of Hannah's reaction to the big news....
