War Eagle

Today after Mommy picked Hannah up from daycare we decided to make a picture for Daddy. Mommy put Hannah in her very special shirt, and we had a little photo shoot. The pictures came out really cute, so there is no doubt now that she is really an Auburn fan. Her first words may be "war eagle" after all!

Irish Angel

Michael, Dad, Cindy, and Erin all went to Orlando at the beginning of August. They brought back this cute t-shirt for Hannah. We thought it would be way too big, but when we put it on the other day it fit just right! I guess that Hannah is really a Murphy at heart.

Best Friends

There is not much to say with this picture...it pretty much explains itself. We couldn't have picked a better dog! Allie was too nervous to be in the picture of course :)

Cereal!!

After lots of pressure from her Nana, Hannah got her first bite of solid foods on Monday night. She didn't know what to do with the spoon that was coming toward her mouth. After a few days of practice she seems to be really getting the hang of things!

Christening

Hannah got christened last weekend in the same church that Jay and I got married in. Pastor Bob, who married Jay and me, did the christening. She had lots of special people at church. Her Gigi, Grandaddy, Uncle Tyler, Uncle Eli, Nana, Pops, PopPop, Nanny Cindy, Uncle Mike, Aunt Teri, Justin, and Sheila were all there. We were so nervous that Hannah was either going to scream or spit up, but she didn’t do either. Pastor Bob walked her all around the church and she just stared at all the people. We were so proud of her for being such a good girl on her big day!!

So tired....

Hannah loves to play on her mat, but on this particular morning she was so tired that she just fell asleep playing! Her new thing is to sleep with her thumb in her mouth. She knows that her Mommy can't pull it out while she's sleeping for fear that she will wake up. Instead of putting her other 4 fingers in a fist when her thumb is in her mouth, she puts them all up on her nose and face. She is so silly!

NJ Trip

This weekend we took a trip to visit my family in New Jersey. Everyone was excited to meet Hannah. Hannah did WONDERFUL on the plane. Her daddy said that she was smiling when we went up and smiling when we came down. She really enjoyed spending time with her great grandparents and her uncles, aunts, and cousins. We wish that everyone lived closer so that we could get together more often.

2 months!

It's hard to believe that Hannah is already 2 months old! We have had some great pictures of her smiling. Smiling seems to be one of her favorite things to do these days. She loves to smile at Mommy and Daddy, but most of all she loves to smile at her singing star toy. She smiles and coos as the toy lights up and sings songs to her.

Father's Day

This year was Jay's first father's day, and we celebrated by going out to brunch with Mom, Bob, and Michael. Jay is a fantastic father. It doesn't surprise me much because I knew that I married an incredible man. Hannah loves her Daddy so much. She lights up when he is around, and smiles and "talks" to her Daddy all the time. He feeds her and puts her to sleep every night, and I know that it is not only a special time for Jay but for Hannah as well. I love watching them interact with each other, and I know that Jay will continue to set the standard high for the men Hannah allows in her life. I look forward to celebrating many more father's days with my family.

Memorial Day Weekend

I am kind of going back in time, but I wanted to include these pictures on the site. My Dad, Cindy, and Erin came to visit us and meet Hannah. We had a nice weekend which included eating and shopping at Atlantic Station, and watching Batman and grilling out at our place.

6 weeks later....

I can't get over how much Hannah has changed in such a short amount of time. A lot has changed in six weeks, and it seems like everyday we are falling more in love with our little girl. The first picture above is on the day we took Hannah home from the hospital. The second picture is in the same dress 6 weeks later! Yesterday Hannah turned 7 weeks old and she is starting to establish her routine. On most nights she will sleep all the way through. Occasionally she will stir at around 3 and want her pacifier put into her mouth. She is also able to recognize her Daddy's voice, and when he comes home from work and she sees him she gets a big smile on her face! We can't wait to see what the next 6 weeks will bring!

Uncle Mike

Hannah loves to spend time with her Uncle Mike when he is home from college. This weekend Mommy and Nana had to run to the store to get a few things, and Uncle Mike stayed back to watch Hannah for us! They had a great time watching the "Baby Channel" and World Cup soccer.

Our First Road Trip with the Family

We took our first road trip with the WHOLE family this weekend. We had the baby and both dogs in the car for the trip to Birmingham. We stayed the weekend with Hannah's Gigi and Grandaddy. They had a really nice "Come See Hannah" party on Saturday. We got to see the family and they got to meet our sweet baby. Unfortunately she wasn't so sweet for her big appearance. I've decided that sometimes she just likes to be by herself on her mat or on a blanket on the floor. She gets tired of Mommy and Daddy messing with her all the time :) We also finally got a picture of her smiling!

A trip to Shaniqua's house

Hannah and I took a special trip on Tuesday to Shaniqua's house. Of course we had to stop at a scrapbook store first! We had a nice lunch with Christian and Shaniqua and then while Hannah slept, Mommy got to do some scrapbooking. I haven't scrapped in FOREVER, so it was good to finally have a creative outlet. I actually got 2 pages done in a book I am making for Hannah. After the scrapbooking, we decided to take some pictures of the babies together. It is so awesome to see 2 babies that were in their mama's tummies at the same time out in the world together! It was a special time for all!

Jay and I have decided to start a blog to keep the family and friends up to date on the life and times of our little family. More to come....
