Happy Birthday Hannah!

Dear Hannah,

5 years ago today you changed our lives forever.  Before you arrived, we didn't know how deeply we would fall in love with you.  You are the most amazing little girl and we love you more each and every day.

2007

You are the smartest little girl!  You are always asking about how things work or how to spell new words.  You are so excited to learn how to read, and can't wait to start kindergarten in the fall. 

2008

Not only are you smart, but you are also beautiful.  As you get older, I hope you never forget that, no matter what, you will always be our beautiful princess.  You don't want anything to do with dresses, but you make mommy very happy on the few occasions when you decide to wear one.  Of course you always have to have your shorts on underneath!!

2009

Although you weren't so sure about him at first, you have become the most amazing big sister.  You love your brother more anything in the whole world.  On your birthday, instead of not allowing him to touch any of your gifts, you let him play with all your new toys.  When Mommy and Daddy came to you and asked you if you would be willing to share a room with Ben to help make room for Ellie, you never complained once.  Although he keeps you up sometimes at night and wakes you up early on the weekends, you would do anything for him and for our family.

2010

Even though you don't like wearing dresses, you love to get your nails and toes painted at the salon.  You can even charge up a bill larger than Mommy's!!  You also like to get into Mommy's make up.  You're always wanting to put on blush or eyeshadow or lip shine.

2011

You are a 5 year old that knows what she wants.  You have a very specific order to your things, and you don't like it when things don't go as planned.  You love working hard to earn your allowance each week.  You have almost completely taken over caring for Champ, and you always include a special treat for him when you feed him each day.

It's hard to believe you are already turning 5.  It was only yesterday we were bringing you home from the hospital, or carrying a Dora potty seat through restaurants, or moving you to your big girl room.  We are honored and blessed with everyday we get to spend with you.  You make parenting seem so easy sometimes.  We love you goose!
